With the new Formula One season due to start in March (we’re big fans!), we thought we’d offer our thoughts on the comparisons between F1 and Construction.

Someone once said, ‘construction is like shipbuilding, in that we build a small number of large-scale things, usually as one-offs’. We agree this is a great analogy, but we also think delivering a specialist construction project is like running a Formula 1 team. Why?

• we arrive at different venues around the globe with our people and equipment, utilise local suppliers and make ourselves at home for the duration of the event/project.
• we make use the latest cutting-edge technology with integrated systems for reporting, management, and control
• we are always looking to innovate and develop new technologies and build methods
• We have a team of dedicated engineers, operatives, and technically qualified people to get us over the finish line
• We’re used to working to tight deadlines and timescales and managing complex operations to reach the chequered flag
• It is essential we work as one team to deliver a win
• We holiday in Monaco… (we wish!)
